The city is made up of canals, luxury properties, parks, promenades and shops.
Dubai Marina is said to be one of the largest canal cities in the world. Skyscrapers containing luxury residences and holiday properties stretch for almost 3 kilometres along the Persian Gulf. It is located in the western part of Dubai, about 20 kilometres from the city centre
One of the most enjoyable ways to explore the area is to take a ride on a traditional dhow. There is a lot to see. Cruises are available both day and night. The entire waterfront and marina area was created by digging into the desert to allow the waters of the Gulf to enter the site.
If you prefer to stay on land, you can enjoy the many parks and walkways in the area. Take a long walk along Marina Walk, for example, a 7-kilometre long waterfront path. It goes all the way around the marina.
On the way, you can cool off in a bar while watching the yachts and speedboats moored near the shore.
Why not take advantage of the proximity of the water to sunbathe or swim on Jumeirah Beach?
Many visitors also come to the marina for shopping. The Dubai Marina Mall is a large complex with over 120 shops.
On your way out, be sure to browse the stalls at the Marina Market. Located on the promenade at the back of the mall, it is open from Wednesday to Saturday between October and April.
The promenade is lined with many restaurants with terraces. It is a pleasant place to have lunch or dinner.
For even more culinary variety, be sure to visit the Gourmet Tower on seven levels of the mall. Each level offers a different dining concept, as well as 360 degree views of the city and the Arabian Gulf.
Dubai Marina is one of the best areas in the city to walk around. When night falls, the area lights up with beautiful colours. As you stroll through the area, you can enjoy a meal or a drink in a lively atmosphere.
Dubai Marina is easily accessible by car via Sheikh Zayed Road and by metro via the red line.
